This original production cel from the cartoon which entertained a whole generation of children in the late 1980s: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, shows the ever popular Michaelangelo complete with shades. The cartoon, which featured Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michaelangelo, Shredder, Rocksteady, Bebop, April and the wise old rat Master Splinter, was a firm favourite for many years – indeed, the shelves of many toy shops were often left bare when the latest action figure was released. Computer game spin offs and Hollywood movies met with similar success.
Michaelangelo is a party reptile. Even though the sinister Shredder may be slicing his way through the manhole cover, Mike stays cool... cool because he's the master of the whirling nunchukus. It takes eight pounds of pressure per square inch to break bone. The nunchukus generate ninety! In the midst of the most perilous battles, Mike can be seen swinging his deadly nunchukus in one hand while dangling a wedge of pizza in the other. Mike dreams to someday use Shredder's cutting armor to grate cheese on his pepperoni and ice cream pizza.
This is an actual original hand painted production cel from the series itself. The cel comes with a a seal from Murakami Wolf Swenson, Inc (the animation studio which made the series) to demonstrate this. It comes ready matted on a laser background and as it measures a huge 14 x 11, it would make a tremendous display piece for your home or office.
Four turtles fall into the sewers and are befriended by Hamato Yoshi a Japanese man sent to New York who was forced to live in the sewers. One day he sees a strange green glow which transforms the four turtles into human-like creatures. Hamato (now Master Splinter) changes into a giant rat from the green glow and teaches the turtles the skills of the ninja as they team up with Channel 6 news reporter April O'Neil to battle against Yoshi's arch enemy Shredder and Krang, an alien from Dimension X.
